About Me

/Who Am I

I’m pleased to be the General Counsel for Southern Oregon University. Inspiring curiosity and creativity, compelling critical thinking, fostering discovery and creating lives of purpose.

I was a leader for Deloitte Consulting LLP in regulated products (cannabis, hemp, alcohol & tobacco) helping government and commercial clients navigate the organizational challenges inherent in establishing and maintaining regulatory programs, as well as effectively implement the programs, processes and technology necessary to comply with laws, regulations and policies.

I have served as the Klamath County District Attorney and Chair of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, which regulates recreational cannabis, alcohol and Oregon’s container recycling program.

Previously, I was elected for three terms as an Oregon State Representative where I served in positions of Majority Whip, Chair of the Public Safety Sub-Committee of Ways and Means, and as Co-Chair of the Joint Legislative Committee on Information Management and Technology. I have also been the President of the Medford City Council and served as the General Counsel and District Director for U.S. Congressman Greg Walden.

My private sector business experience includes being the General Counsel for Pacific Retirement Services, Inc., President of a multi-state real estate development firm, Corporate Counsel for a NASDAQ traded company, small business owner, and business consultant.

I grew up on a working cattle ranch in Eagle Point, Oregon.  I am an Eagle Scout.  I have served on the board of directors of several non-profits and continue to volunteer in my community.

Mary Patridge and I have been married for over 25 years and we have two children, Maya and Owen Patridge.
